Head Teacher’s Welcome

A welcome message from our headteacher.

Head Teacher’s Welcome

Mrs E Maher

I am delighted to be able to welcome you to St Joseph’s Catholic primary School.   St Joseph’s is a Catholic school which prides itself on living its mission by creating a happy, caring school where everyone is encouraged and inspired to reach their true potential.  It is a privilege to be entrusted with the education and well-being of our young children, and it gives me a great deal of pride to see our children as they grow, learn and flourish as they travel through our school.

Our school team is committed to the children’s well-being, to achieving high standards and providing the best opportunities for the children in our care.  Our parents and families play an important role in this; we believe that children learn best when there are strong links between home and school, and we value the support our families give to their children and our school community.

To find out more about our lovely school please do take a look around the website.  If there is anything else you’d like to know, or if you’d like to arrange a visit, just give us a call.

Big Lent Walk

During Lent we are talking part in ‘The Big Lent Walk’ to raise money for CAFOD and have challengedourselves to walk 200km and raise £200. We are planning a “Big Lent Walk” from school on Tuesday 26th March, taking in a 1.5km around the park and up through the village. We will be leaving school […]

Our year 1 children have participated in a ‘Walkwise’ programme aimed and teaching the children about road safety. They contributed in classroom discussion and had practical lessons outside of school to help them learn the importance of road safety and crossing the road.

Nursery – Let’s Travel

In Nursery our topic is ‘Let’s Travel.’ We have been talking about and looking at features of our local area. The children have loved exploring our Washington Village map. They have picked out landmarks that they know and can talk about what they do there.
